Tracey Emin

Tracey Emin, CBE, RA is an English contemporary artist, known for her autobiographical and confessional artwork.

Tracey was born in 1963 in London, and trained at Maidstone College of Art and the Royal College of Art in London. Her work has been exhibited all over the world, and can be found in public and private collections globally. 2007 was a big year for Emin – not only was she the second female artist ever to represent Britain at the 52nd Venice Biennale but she was also made a Royal Academician, awarded an Honorary Doctorate from the Royal College of Art, a Doctor of Letters from the University of Kent and a Doctor of Philosophy from London Metropolitan University. In 2011 she became the Royal Academy’s Professor of Drawing and in 2012, Queen Elizabeth II appointed her Commander of the Most Excellent Order of the British Empire for her contributions to the visual arts.
