Seeing Gender: New Perspectives on Modern Chinese Art

To coincide with the launch of her newly edited book and the ‘Women in Art: Hong Kong’ exhibition, Yu-chih Lai will discuss how gender perspectives have actively shaped the field of modern Chinese art history. The talk will explore how gender has been seen, practiced, and constructed through objects, media and technology as well as how gender was exercised in the life and biographies of different artists.
