Rhonda Whitehead
Rhonda Whitehead’s career began in the seventies after graduating from the Royal College of Art. Her first solo exhibition was at the Commonwealth Institute Gallery, London in 1975. Since then she has had a further thirty four solo exhibitions both nationally and internationally.
Whitehead’s recent work examines the effects of nature on the built environment in mixed media and oil on canvas and primed paper. Scrapings, colour, stucco, openings, recesses, shutters, underlying geometry, architectural details and erosion caused by weathering are all elements in the built environment that painter Rhonda Whitehead finds inspiration from.
